Buttermilk Ranch Dressing
We recently started stocking organic buttermilk from Pennsylvania and the first thing I wanted to make was ranch dressing. We are able to get local & regional dairy products (VA, MD, and PA).
You can find the original recipe here, but my adjustments are below. I’ve made this recipe multiple times now and I love it! I’ve also scaled it up to make a large quantity — the general ratio of the base is equal parts buttermilk, yogurt, & mayo (you could swap any of these for something else, like sour cream, olive oil instead of mayo, etc. and you can tweak the ratios to get your preferred consistency)
1/4 cup low fat buttermilk
1/4 cup mayo
1/4 cup plain low fat Greek yogurt
1 tablespoon each of finely chopped dill, chives, parsley (I used way more than a tbsp each…)
1 clove garlic minced
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon each salt and pepper
pinch cayenne pepper optional
Combine all ingredients together in a medium bowl and mix until well incorporated. Alternatively, ingredients can be combined with the use of a food processor or blender.
